About the plot of land

Osmangazi Bridge

Since the opening of Osmangazi Bridge in 2016, prices in Lake Iznik area have increased by around 15% - and there is still a huge amount of room left to grow when you compare prices to those of Istanbul and Bursa – both within easy commutable distance.

Osmangazi Bridge is the access point across the Gulf of Izmit and is the fourth longest suspension bridge in the world, a work of art by the Turkish government that has significantly improve travelling time between Bursa and Istanbul.

Before the opening of the bridge, it would take approximately 120 minutes to drive from Bursa to Istanbul, however, with the new bridge it now takes only 30 minutes – a decrease of 90 minutes – making Bursa an attractive proposition for those looking for easy access to Istanbul.

About Lake Iznik and plot location

Lake Iznik falls geographically within Bursa and is steeped in Turkish culture and history – it was featured in the Trojan War and Greek Mythology. The lake measures around 32km in length and 10km in width. At its deepest, the lake has a depth of 80 metres.

After the opening of Osmangazi Bridge, Lake Iznik is now actually closer to Sabiha Gokcen Airport in Istanbul than to the centre of Bursa – it takes around 30 minutes to reach the airport whereas Bursa Centre can be accessed in 45 minutes. This gives those who live in this area a lovely option of spending the day in Istanbul or Bursa – shopping at the Grand Bazaar or relaxing and breathing the clean air of Bursa.

Why invest in land here?

Right on the other side of Osmangazi Bridge is Gebze, the beginning of Istanbul, whereas the beginning of Bursa is Orhangazi just 15 minutes away from Lake Iznik. For investors, Lake Iznik is the only area that has yet to be developed between the two cities – it is the next area to open up for zoning and this brings with it several exciting possibilities.

Property Turkey expect that zoning will pass within the next five years at a maximum, and once it has, land prices per m2 will increase dramatically.
