Bitez BeachKnown as one of the hidden gems of Bodrum Peninsula, Bitez is fast on its way to becoming one of the top destination resorts along the Aegean Sea, yet retains most of its village feel and atmosphere to present a sublime setting for anyone who loves beaches and nature.

Located just 50 minutes away from Bodrum Airport, Bitez is easily accessible with great transport links taking you all over Bodrum at a moments notice. If you are in the Gumbet area, you can take a cheap Dolmus ride down to Bitez Beach within 10 minutes.

Surrounded by towering mountains, perfect green nature views, and much more, the area has something for everyone – a perfect family day out for all to enjoy. Whether you are sunbathing, enjoying the blue Aegean Sea, or perhaps relaxing at one of the beachfront restaurants and cafes where you can find great menus and bargain prices, Bitez offers a slower pace of life for those looking to escape from the everyday hustle and bustle.

There are a few hotels dotted around the area that liven up the region in peak summer months, but generally Bitez is one of the quieter spots in Bodrum that you will find.

After a few hours of enjoying the suns rays, head over for some windsurfing and other water sports which can be found on the beach. You are also just a short distance away from other historical sites and monuments within easy reach.

Bitez BeachA little further away from the beach you will find Bitez Village. Depending on which days you visit the area, you could find the weekly market in full flow on your walks – well worth a visit and easy to pick up a few bargains. The Farmers Market is held every Thursday, while the Flea Market is held on Sundays. As expected, the village has a slow pace of life; you can pick up local delicacies from the bakery, or take a slow walk around and enjoy the authentic picture of Turkey.

Bitez Village is home to the stunning Gara Chuch which is a must see on anyone’s list who has visited the area. Gara Church is a famous 2,000 year old Greek Church with lots of history and cultural significance to the area. Although you can’t presently enter the Church due to it needing some renovation, you can peer through the windows and marvel and the impressive dolphin mosaics on the floors.

For a perfect relaxing day away from the busy pace of life at more popular resorts, Bitez Beach makes for a tremendous day out – uncover one of Bodrum’s hidden secrets in Bitez at your own leisurely pace and will.
