Turkish Airlines aims for record number of tourism flights

In the summer season of 2022, the national flag carrier Turkish Airlines (THY) will make their contribution to local tourism by offering tourism-oriented flights. Currently THY introduce millions of tourists to the stunning cities in Turkey.


Number of direct flights

In an announcement from the THY Press Office, there will be 338 direct flights to the southern Mediterranean touristic province of Antalya, the Dalaman and Bodrum-Milas districts of southwestern Mugla, the western Izmir province, and internationally. 

The aim of THY is to exercise a successful service regardless of the travel restrictions that are in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The plans for the summer season are for THY to expedite its power in the sky with the planned direct flights. These direct flights are promising high levels of comfort and short travel times.

Turkish Airlines have been analysing its passengers travel demands and preparing flight plans. This way, they believe that they can gather the needs of tourists and have a clear idea of the interest of foreign tourists.


AnadoluJet

AnadoluJet is a Turkish Airline brand which began offering international flights in 2020, and they are also going to provide flights to tourist areas to. They will run 248 flights a week to 39 destinations abroad and to holiday destinations in the Mediterranean and Aegean.


Countries that top the travel numbers

The highest demands from agencies come from Israel, Germany, Lebanon, Russia, and the United Kingdom. For this reason, AnadoluJet will offer weekly flights with 72 flights from eight destinations in Germany and 35 flights from two destinations in the UK.

Ahmet Bolat, the Chairperson of the Board and Executive Committee from Turkish Airlines said that they will increase flights for tourists in the summer season. He went on to point out that Turkey is a central location for tourists with the country’s outstanding tourist attractions and unique beauty attracting arrivals.

Bolat said that: "The flight demand we receive from all over the world continue to increase as the summer season approaches. We will welcome foreign tourists who want to travel to our country as the flag carrier airline, with direct flights from their countries.”
