Turkish Airlines will become Liverpool FC's main club sponsor from June 1, 2027, placing the Turkish flag carrier's branding on the front of the club's match shirts. The agreement represents Liverpool's first change of main club partner in 17 years and significantly expands Turkish Airlines' presence in international sport.

Turkish Airlines Branding to Appear on Liverpool Shirts

Under the agreement, Turkish Airlines branding will appear on the front of Liverpool's men's, women's, and Academy match shirts beginning with the 2027-28 season. The partnership brings together one of England's most internationally recognised football clubs with Turkey's national flag carrier and its extensive global aviation network.

Ben Latty, Chief Commercial Officer at Liverpool FC, described the agreement as an important moment for the club, saying: "This is a milestone announcement for us, and we are delighted to welcome Turkish Airlines as our main club partner from June 2027."

Standard Chartered will remain Liverpool's main club sponsor throughout the 2026-27 season before becoming a global partner from 2027-28. The bank has occupied the prominent front-of-shirt position since 2010, making the Turkish Airlines agreement the first change in 17 years.

Five-Year Agreement Reportedly Worth £300 Million

Liverpool did not disclose the financial terms of its new partnership, although reports value the five-year agreement at £300 million GBP – around £60 million GBP per season, compared with the reported £50 million GBP annual value of Liverpool's existing Standard Chartered agreement.

The partnership represents another major international marketing platform for Turkish Airlines, which has maintained a significant presence in global sports sponsorship. The airline operates a network covering 356 destinations across 132 countries, centred around its main hub at Istanbul Airport.

Turkish Airlines Chief Executive Officer Ahmet Olmuştur said: "Liverpool Football Club is one of the world's most recognised and respected football clubs, with an exceptional heritage and a truly global community of supporters. We believe in the unique power of sport to transcend borders and bring communities together."

Partnership Expands Turkish Airlines' Global Exposure

The Liverpool agreement gives Turkish Airlines one of the most visible commercial positions in international club football. Liverpool's worldwide supporter base provides the carrier with extensive exposure across markets that overlap with its rapidly expanding international flight network.

Turkey's national carrier currently serves more countries than any other airline and connects its international network through Istanbul. The Turkish Wealth Fund holds a 49.1% stake in the airline, making its continued global expansion strategically important to Turkey's aviation and tourism ambitions.
