Yalova in Turkey tempts 500,000 tourists in 2021

Data recently released showed that almost half a million tourists visited Yalova in 2021 to enjoy the soothing natural hot springs within the region, which has named it as one of the more prolific thermal destinations for tourism around the world.

Yalova is one of the top destinations for those who appreciate true nature and offers both foreign and domestic tourists the opportunity to enjoy a completely relaxing thermal holiday regardless of the time of year.


What Yalova in Turkey offers

Yalova has a total of 17 facilities which collectively offer 5,000 beds for tourists to take advantage of, and the area is certified by the Culture and Tourism Ministry as well as businesses that hold government backed certifications.

Yalova is also renown as a healing destination with a history that dates back to the Roman era, and in 2021 the thermal spas welcomed almost half a million visitors in total. These numbers included 120,000 people from the USA, Germany, Russia, Iran, Greece, Portugal, and Switzerland despite the Coronavirus pandemic that was still rife.


Nationalities visiting Yalova

Umit Gurbuzoglu, the deputy head of the Health Ministry’s Thermal Hot Springs Enterprise said that Yalova is particularly favoured by tourists from Russia. Gurbuzoglu went on to explain that Russian holidaymakers particularly enjoy the atmosphere in Yalova as well as the thermal springs and close links to nature, providing a complete escape from busy life in cities.

The Russian visitors are fans of the warm water temperature and vast oxygen levels found in Yalova. Gurbuzoglu added that: "There are also many people who come from Istanbul for a day. They take nature walks and benefit from the thermal pools."
