
Turkey’s Culture and Tourism Minister, Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, recently announced that the popular tourist city of Antalya welcomed over 100,000 foreign tourist arrivals in one day – the highest daily influx of foreign visitors for the month of July in five years.
According to the data released, a total of 100,646 foreign visitors arrived at Antalya through Antalya Airport and Gazipasa Airport on Saturday, July 12. Of that, 98,777 people arrived via Antalya Airport, while 1,869 foreign arrivals came via Gazipasa Airport.
Ersoy noted that Antalya had left another peak in tourism behind, saying: “This data has been recorded as the highest daily foreign visitor number for the month of July in the last five years.”
The all-time record for single daily foreign arrivals to Antalya was set in August 2024 when 102,755 people arrived at Antalya Airports. Ersoy continued: “Thanks to the strong tourism infrastructure and the determined collaboration of the sector, Antalya’s international appeal is growing every day.”
Ersoy praised the tourism industry efforts and thanked sector stakeholders and their actions under the vision of the “Century of Turkiye” – designed to further enhance Turkey’s global tourism appeal.
Amidst growing tourism appeal and popularity, Antalya Airport recently announced plans to increase passenger capacity to 82 million people, up from 35 million currently. New Terminal Buildings, VIP facilities, and other services are set to be operational in 2025.
Under the renovation, the International Terminal will be expanded to 224,000 square metres, while the Domestic Terminal will be expanded to 75,000 square metres. Available aircraft parking positions will increase to 176, up from 108.
In 2024, Antalya welcomed 32.9 million international passengers on 188,700 flights. A further 6.2 million passengers arrived at Antalya via 45,300 domestic flights. Antalya is one of the most-visited cities in Europe – offering beaches, golfing, shopping, hotel resorts, and so much more.
