Two new Blue Flag Beaches awarded in Turkey The Karasu district in the province of Sakarya in Turkey was recently presented with two blue flags for beaches in the area. The blue flag relates to the cleanliness of the beach as well as the health of the sea. The metropolitan municipality mayor of Sakarya, Ekrem Yuce said that it is his aim to now obtain blue flag status for Koccali and Kaynarca beaches.
