This client got in touch with us after the Turkish government announced it would offer citizenship by investment in real estate, with homes valued at $1m or more. After a number of emails and phone calls, including a consultation with a specialist lawyer about the finer points of gaining citizenship, he visited Istanbul for an in-depth look at properties in the Media Highway/Basin Ekspres area.
Emre Birsol and his family bought a Bodrum villa. Originally from Turkey, Emre moved to London as a child. As an adult with his own family, he decided it was time escape the city and to return to their roots. In his original email to us, he said: “We’re looking for somewhere safe with a friendly community that is active all year round, excellent facilities such as schools, a great climate and beautiful scenery. We would also like peace and quiet but to be near the centre, if possible.”
